Leisureworks, the trust for the sports and arts in County Durham, has taken the initiative to keep young people entertained over the Easter period by launching an exciting new holiday programme with something for everyone. With fun activities including sporting fun, trips and activity days, swimming, dance, kids club and much more, families will be spoilt for choice!

Leisureworks’ is offering a wide range of different sporting classes over the Easter period. Although some classes are completely free, others start from as little as £2 per session. Classes include tennis, gymnastics, trampolines, athletics, football and much more. All sessions are delivered by fully qualified coaches allowing participants with any level of ability to get involved in activities of their choice.

If sport isn’t your thing, Leisureworks has a diverse range of trips and activities planned suitable for the whole family. Trips run from 7th – 16th April and include visits to Flamingoland, Blue Reef Aquarium, Newcastle Eagles professional basketball games at the Metro Radio Arena and activities such as kids disco’s and magic shows. These activities cost between £2 - £20 (with admission and travel included for trips outside the area)

Also offered are swimming crash courses, which are delivered by expert coaches for swimmers of all abilities from non-swimmers to advanced. These classes run from the 6th – 16th April at both the Louisa Centre and Belle Vue Swim Centre. Also provided at Belle Vue is a pool fun session that allows kids to have supervised safe fun in the pool with inflatables and a water slide.

If that wasn’t enough, Leisureworks have lined up some outdoor fun activities such as the ‘Play Ranger’ programme, which includes traditional games, giant egg making and a butterfly extravaganza. Other activities offered throughout Easter are Cheer Dance and Rhyme Time at the Belle Vue Leisure Centre and a Kids’ Club that allows children, whether sporty, creative or adventurous, to stay for as long as they want during the week and have tonnes of fun!
